SAU Students want to decorate our graduation caps and wear cultural reg for commencement!!

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

As students, we have worked tirelessly to obtain our degrees and make a difference on this campus. As the May 2018 Commencement approaches soon, we as students would like to be able to celebrate that fact by participating in the global tradition of decorating our caps and wearing cultural regalia (i.e. Kente stoles). This is an international tradition that is done with good, clean taste, and not meant to harm any reputation that the university may want to uphold. We would like to request from the Faculty/Administration that the class of 2018 and thereafter would be allowed to decorate our graduation caps and wear our cultural regalia. We would keep within the code of conduct and Christian values of our university, while also graduating in style and celebrating such a momentous occasion. All of those who have signed this petition are voicing their desires to be able to decorate our graduation caps.
