Reduce speeding traffic through Daws House and South Petherwin
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200.
Too many residents in the village of South Petherwin and the hamlet of Daws House have had bad experiences and near-accidents due to vehicles flaunting our 30 mph speed limit. It is becoming increasingly dangerous to enter and exit driveways, but the most dangerous aspect of continued speeding is for residents and pedestrians on the B3254 through Daws House. There is NO footpath through Daws House and the increasing danger to children who have to walk to the school bus stop cannot be ignored any longer. Families have personal, repeated experiences of 'near misses' when walking on the road and entering or leaving driveways, due to excessive speed of other vehicles and the outright aggression of their drivers. Previous attempts to reduce vehicle speed have come to nothing and the problem has worsened considerably.
PLEASE support our petition to the Parish Council to fight for further measures to combat this daily problem, such as average speed camera installation. Your support will allow the Parish Council to take the matter to higher authorities, who will only take notice if our voices are heard.
Residents of a beautiful rural village and hamlet should not have to live in fear of an accident happening here. Thank you. Your support is greatly appreciated.
