I am currently an 11th grade student at South Lyon High School. Our grading system misrepresents our student body, as well as puts us at a strict disadvantage during college applications. Many other districts allow above a 4.0 GPA when applying to colleges, while ours takes away any A+ grades students have earned and replaces them back to an A. Along with this an A is anything between 91.50%-100% which by no means distinguishes top kids from average. With enough support our student body hopes to sway the school board's decision on retroacting or A+ grades for a better chance in the largely competitive college application process.
