Relocation of Aldi site in Ivybridge.

Relocation of Aldi site in Ivybridge.
Why this petition matters
Most residents of Ivybridge agree that an Aldi supermarket would be a good addition to the town. However, the planned site causes several logistical issues for businesses and residents.
parking is already a premium within the town and removal of the car park to make room for the Aldi store is a huge issue which will only create problems for local residents and commuters into the town.
The original consultation showed that residents were against this site. However that appears to have been ignored - more than likely due to financial reasons. By going ahead with the planned site will lead to lack of parking, removal of established mature trees, negative impact on local retailers and businesses and potential further increase of anti social issues.
we would like Ivybridge town council to assert pressure on south hams council to redirect the building of the Aldi store to a different location within Ivybridge. Local press is involved and keeping a watchful eye on events.
