South Football Plays Princeton and Not Pennsauken for Homecoming 2017

It has come to mine, and many others attentions, that our football team will be playing Pennsauken this year for homecoming and we believe that it is not only unfair to the players and coaches of the football team, but also to the entire student body. South football has not won a home game in 3 years, let alone homecoming. Having the South football team win the homecoming game would create an overwhelming feeling of joy for everyone in the stands, especially the seniors. Having homecoming on the day that we play Princeton would be a much better alternative not only because South beat them last year, but also because Princeton is considered a rival to the Pirates whereas Pennsauken is a school that many students haven’t even heard of. This would encourage more students to come to the game which would create even more school spirit. We also believe that scheduling this game the weekend before Halloween is very inconvenient because many students have already made plans for that weekend making them unable to attend. Lastly, having senior night and homecoming as the same game is very disrespectful to the seniors who have dedicated their time and effort to the program. They should have a separate game dedicated to them. We believe that playing Princeton for the homecoming game would overall be a much better alternative due to the greater chance of increased school spirit coming from the student body and the athletes on the field.
