During the mid 1970’s status & Federal Funding for this section of the Princes Highway East of Sale (Vic) to Wollongong (NSW) was taken away and allocated to the Development of the Hume Highway. It is now 45 years Later! On behalf of the 17 councils who make up the SEATS region, with over 1 million residents, holiday makers and road uses are seeking support to have the Princes Highway recognised as a major freight & tourist route again. SEATS is requesting official recognition under the “National Land Transport Network Act of 2014” to help secure much needed funding for major road & safety upgrades to this section of the Princes Highway.
