Transparency & responsible decision-making during increased COVID cases.
Why this petition matters
As an educator of over 18 years, and new to Greenville County School District, I am gravely concerned about our health and well-being. Particularly, our staff members, students, support staff and family members.
After following established by the Center of Disease Control (CDC), and local health authorities, my wife and I were blessed to remain in good health even though our relocation to South Carolina put us in the midst the pandemic.
Unfortunately, during the month of December, after being with the Greenville School District for a short period, I contracted COVID-19, and subsequently, my wife as well. We are within the age and risk category for COVID-19.
Lastly, my concern is, the information provided to us as district employees, students, and family members does not address our concerns. We have been given information pertaining to increasing in-person learning versus closures. There are sates that have less COVID cases, but have implemented e-learning only, until further notice. Please join me in signing this petition to demand a Town-Hall meeting in the city of Greenville in which State Senators, Department of Health and Environmental Control officials and Greenville School District officials answer questions regarding increased cases, with no school closures.
