The people of South Carolina are plagued with drunk drivers. We all have a friend or family member who has been injured or killed by a drunk driver; or hurt themselves driving drunk. Drunk driving is as dangerous as someone intoxicated shooting a gun in the middle of town, or in the streets our children play and ride their bikes in. This behavior is obviously not just self destructive but outwardly fatally destructive. Many who have a DUI will continue to drink and drive again because we have extremely lax laws in SC regarding DUI offenses and many people don't learn lessons after a slap on the wrist.       This petition is to let our SC state legislators know we want action against this reckless dangerous behavior. We want 1st time DUI offenders to be banned from buying or drinking any alcohol for LIFE in the state of SC. 2nd offense will be a lifetime ban from ever driving on a public SC road.                          If you want safer streets, a safer environment to raise your family in, a safer SC, and to save a life please sign this petition and let our voices be heard.
