South Carolina is passing an ANTI-TRANSGENDER bill which will prohibit life saving medical treatment to youth who identify as transgender (gender identity/mind does not match their biological body or sex assigned at birth- called gender identity disorder.) Many trans youth and adults commit suicide everyday due to gender dysphoria and the feeling of overwhelming discomfort in their bodies, impacting their abilities to partake in daily activities. Transgender people are humans who deserve the right to live, and live in peace, equally as anyone else around the world. Being transgender is a medical disorder out of an individual’s control. 

This bill is to PROHIBIT transgender youth from receiving any form of medical treatment surrounding gender- they will not only be unable to have surgeries, they will not be able to even seek hormones or hormone blockers to prevent entering puberty and developing the matured body that they do not identify with. No young girl wants to develop a deep voice, or facial hair, but it seems that option has been taken from her. 

If doctors complete any of these treatments, it is considered a CRIMINAL act- MEDICAL EXPERIMENTATION with a fine of $2,000 or more. 

No matter your stance or opinion about the LGBTQ community, nobody deserves to live in isolation and have medical rights taken away from them.
