I am an alumnus of CofC and would not like to see its unique qualities of being a liberal arts university become overshadowed by a university power struggle.

We should protect the intergrity of our public instituations. The College of Charleston is one place that we need to fight for! She is my home and has become a resounding voice for both justice, equality and social activisim around the state. Let's Stand United!

The merger is going to do nothing but destroy what College of Charleston is and what MUSC is. Let C of C stay a LIBERAL ARTS school and let MUSC stay a MEDICAL UNIVERSITY. We're separated for a reason.

Outside of the fact that no one wants this except VERY FEW individuals who have an agenda, the logistics to make this merger work will eventually cost MORE not less. Especially, management and control (New Deans, departments, equipment, services, etc.) This is a bad selfish idea of a few who have not considered the long term effects.
