Myrtle Beach and much of Coastal South Carolina have amazing beaches, great weather yet depressed economies all around just because those tourist economies are hard to reach by road. The only interstate system nearby is the I-95 freeway system that is a good hour away and then on we are forced to take local two lane roads all the way into the coastal Horry County areas. For people like us and millions like us middle class people seeking to invest and move into these historically agricultural bases economies with no good jobs to speak of, due to lack of industry, educational institutions and development infrastructure, adding in just that freeway extension of I-73 and I-74 would bring in enough momentum to drive the local economy. 

A good transport system can extend the tech sector currently to our north in the Raleigh-Cary-Durham-Charlotte belt in North Carolina and Virginia to lower cost areas such as in South Carolina. As many of us petitioners work in the tech industry all along and beyond the East Coast, we believe that this is a great opportunity for the Federal and South Carolina state government to come together and apportion funds for the I-73 and I-74 extensions Into South Carolina. Generations of tech entrepreneurs, South Carolina citizens and people like us moving into South Carolina would benefit from this transportation program approval, we really would. Every dollar spent on this would reap a 100X returns by way of growth in the economy.
