I was based for a few months in 1993 at Wilton Park as an Australian serving with the British Army doing a specialist course there. I have fond memories of the place. I cannot believe that a very important piece of our collective history has been destroyed by ignorant and greedy developers! It is cultural vandalism and I for one am appalled! Shame on you developers! I sincerely hope and expect that they be prosecuted to the full extent of the Law for their selfish actions! Disgraceful conduct on their behalf!

Development and money seem to speak louder than anything else. No planning consent, amazing what c an be gotten away with if you have the money.

The wanton destruction of historically significant sites for a quick profit is must be halted. This was one of three top secret camps during the Second World War that were vital to the defeat of Nazi Germany. Only Trent Park in North London remains intact and that is now also at risk.

Because I believe it was quite an important place during the war where staff helped Bletchley Park obtain vital information which eventually helped win the war for Britain and its allies.

After the irreversible destruction of Shean Block, Inland Homes should be compelled, by court order if necessary, to donate generously to a heritage centre/museum at the Wilton Park site. This to be done in the interest of our national heritage.

We must do our utmost to preserve our important heritage.
Firm action is essential to prosecute those who destroy such sites ignoring the correct procedures.
