Moses Stoep started this petition to Gen Khehla John Sithole (National Police Commissioner) and

As we are all aware that the community of Geluksdal once upon a time had it's very own police station. Since the "integration/merging" of Geluksdal with Tsakane and the building of the new Tsakane police station, the Geluksdal police was closed down and all incidents had to reported at the Tsakane police station. Unfortunately the integration did not help much as crime has gone up in the area and is out of control.

Residents of Geluksdal are not getting the needed assistance from the Tsakane police station and neither does the crime in the area get attended to attentively. Police visibility in the community has gone from 100% down to 0, and this gives criminal elements an advantage to act out their criminal activities without fear of being detected. The community has a Community Policing Forum (CPF) but it also relies on swift action from SAPS in the execution of their duties and with the Tsakane police station primarily servicing the community of Tsakane, this in it self is a challenge, unlike when you have the police station within the community. With a police station in the immediate area we believe that the reporting of crime, and action against criminal elements will be swift and timeous, as it was the in the past when we had the police station in our community and police patrols were constant and they were always visible.

We are petitioning the Gauteng Department of Public Safety, The Ministry of Police, The National Commissioner of police and Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality to:

- Reinstate the police station in the community of Geluksdal

We need your voice and your signature to advance the safety and security of our beloved community.
