Allow municipalities to acquire independent power producers before its too late

The Government has promised that municipalities would be allowed to procure electricity from Independent Power Producers to take the load of Eskom. This has now been sitting in the office of the Minister of Public Enterprises for several months to finalize the laws and regulations. It seems they simply do not want this to happen without benefiting their own pockets at the same time. This petition is to show them that as South Africans its our basic right to have access to uninterrupted supply of electricity and the only way to achieve this is to get away from solely relying on one power producer (Eskom). They need to now make haste of the implementation so that municipalities, and most notably the City of Cape Town as well as Johannesburg can get this implemented before a total collapse of the Eskom power grid which seems more and more likely! Every time the electricity goes off our appliances suffers and eventually us as citizens will have to pay up to replace these from our own pockets!
With enough support the government will be forced to take note as per Section 56 (d) and 69 (d) of the Constitution of South Africa. Lets get this out there to let them take notice. We as South Africans have had enough!
