United against Corruption in Football Development leagues(LFA).
Newcanada United F.C as a community football club from the city of Joburg Region B Ward 68 stands firmly against Corruption and racism in football. We politely requesting intervention from all football governing bodies (FIFA, CAF & SAFA) and agencies, in the matter between Augusto Palacios Apprentice Academy and Greater Mayfair Local Football Association
We call upon FIFA's ethics committee, SAFA and Minister of Sport and Recreation, the Economic Freedom Fighters to intervene and help us fight corruption and racism that kills the development of small teams in South African football development structures. We remain resolute in saying we have been robbed, discriminated on and our community has been denied further participation in the South African development structures by the Greater Mayfair Local Football Association and Augusto Palacios Apprentice Academy due to our protest against possible match manipulation and influencing the result of a football match and proof of fielding unregistered players.
In the match between APAA versus Newcanada United FC in a GMLFA Premier League match at Mayfair Bloch Park, played on Sunday, September 12, 2021 @12h00. Newcanada United’s Captain rightly requested the cards when issuing the match fee to the referee but he was told not to worry about that…. We were therefore astonished when the referee allowed the game to start, as we were expecting at that point to be afforded the opportunity to see their cards as we had our cards printed on a single A4 paper but the officials allowed the game to start and ignored our request to see their Cards. As Newcanada United Football Club, we immediately informed the referee about the opposition fielding unregistered players and there on logged a formal protest against APAA and the behaviour of the Match Official on Monday, September 13, 2021 @ 09h30 with the Greater Mayfair Local Football Association, to request a course of action in relation to match manipulation and fielding of unregistered players and players registered with APAA Under 17 division. Furthermore on the 12th of September 2021 our opponents had only 12 players registered for the GMLFA Premier League but went on to introduce 3 substitutes in the match, whereas the above mentioned facts were overlooked by the official when we raised during the cause of the match. We were not surprised to see a club of our opponents caliber fielding players who were ineligible to Play, because we were warned by other team officials about the first class treatment our opponents was receiving from the referees at GMLFA. The opponents rather overlooked the SAFA rules and regulations, we were there on called for a DC by the GMLFA Executive on the 29th of September 2021 at 7pm for our protest to be heard with the opposition also in attendance. After we submitted our evidence to the league and the opponents responded we were told that the was to deliberate and come back to us. The league there on sent an email to us on the 5th of October 2021 stating that they have dismissed our protest against APAA due to the referee did not receive team sheet hence his signature does not appear on our team sheet and the protest should have taken place before the start of the match. But when we submitted our complaint/protest to the league we advised in our letter that we had issued our documents to the officials but he refused them, stating that it was not necessary therefore we strongly believe in the capability of SAFA to accordingly attend to our claims and thus delivering the much anticipated Justice. We have been suspended for no valid reasons, rather to spite the club for protesting against the favored Augusto Palacios Apprentice Academy and further complaints against the GMLFA with SAFA JOHANNESBURG . Football development is compromised in our community at this current instance, our team is only training with no competitive football because GMLFA are bigger than football. It cannot be fair that a team be stopped from playing football because of logging a case against them (APPA and GMLFA), And we will not change our tune. THE GMLFA and APAA are not adhering to the rules of SAFA and APAA benefited from the unfair practices of the league. We paid full affiliation with promises that we will be playing a league knockout tournament at the end of the league games but we have been removed from the tournament because of our Protest. Where is the Fairplay?
We have evidence and a voice recording of the DC plus relevant documents to prove our case is valid. Other teams are willing to come forward and support our allegations, a previous GMLFA Referee is also willing to be witness. We have continuously received threats from a GMLFA Official and we stand firm in exposing corruption in our Football and shall not be afraid to say we have been robbed and seek justice for our community.
We humble request your signature to submit our petition to SAFA, Joburg Sports, The Minister of Sport, Arts and Recreation to investigate our complaints.
