Currently, at least in Southern California, Verizon Fios with Frontier is forcing customers on any internet plan above the 50/50 service to pay a mandatory, monthly $10 router rental fee for their provided router. Anyone on the 100/100 service plan or above using their own router is being refused the right to return Frontier's router and waive the monthly $10 fee. This is the equivalent of going bowling and being charged for rental shoes when you have already brought your own shoes and being told you don't need to use the shoes you are being charged for, you can still use your own shoes but you are going to be charged for renting them regardless. This is open predatory and anti-consumer, and if Frontier wants to charge this additional $10 monthly fee, they should be forced to roll it into their normal charges and market it as such, as well as face the negative publicity of conducting business in this way. My current solution is to raise awareness of this issue and push this to the front page of Reddit, one of the largest internet communities in the world right now. From there, we can force Frontier to face the negative press and publicity with an explanation.
