Increase police patrol in N12 area after school hours
Increase police patrol in N12 area after school hours
There is a deep concern over the increasing crime, mostly on secondary school children in the local area (N12). The incidents of theft, aggression towards children (including chasing a school child with the knife), inappropriate behaviour and approach (trying to get a student to enter their car), as well as suspicious behaviour, were reported to the parents by the local school at least 9 times since the beginning of December 2018. Some of these offences have been reported to the police. They happen mostly after school hours when children are making their way home.
There is an atmosphere of insecurity and fear in the local society among parents and children. Children are scared. Parents are scared for their children.
By increasing the police/community support officers in the area after school hours (3-5PM) many parents feel this would make it safer for our children to make their way home after school.
