We are requesting that Russians be sanctioned by the games industry because of their invasion and continued attacks on Ukrainians.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has escalated to causing the wounding and deaths of civilians and non-military infrastructures, including homes, hospitals, and, in one known case, a kindergarten. The reasons provided by the Russians are insufficient causes for warfare at best, deliberately fabricated misinformation at worst. 

The Russian people are mostly against this war when they are made aware of the civilian targeting and the cost to Russian standing, global condemnation, and their everyday life. A major part of the latter, what with the pandemic and other things, is gaming; this is a major past time of the Russian people, often above film and television, and would be noticed by many Russians when they cannot access their games.

The Ukrainian government and people are asking for the games industry to deny access to Russian people, in particular, to block Russians from playing games on the PlayStation and Xbox networks. Other games providers should also consider how they can drive home the message.
