Allow username changing on PlayStation Network

For a long time now, XBOX Live users have been able to change their usernames at will, and with little to no negative repercussions in doing so. I feel like this is something that could also be done with Sony's PlayStation Network, even if it takes a bit of time to implement.
My username on PSN is IchigoSoulNatsu2. This username was an unfortunate result of a bet I made a long time ago, and I've been stuck with it ever since. I think anyone who's reading this can imagine why I want it changed. And I can only imagine there's thousands of users who feel the same about their names, whether purely intentional naming occurred or not.
While this is an issue easily circumvented by creating a new account, the single-console user activation restriction can limit this choice for some, especially larger families. People tend to keep their digital purchases on one account, obviously, so it's not going to be easy for some to just abandon it. One must also consider that this will cause a loss in progress in some games that wouldn't be easy to redo (Warframe, Destiny 2, COD, etc).
So, in the end, I'm really just making a humble request for an unnecessary feature, but I'm sure it's one that'd be greatly appreciated. Hope everyone agrees. :)
