Multiple studies have concluded that the masking of children has been ineffective in preventing the spread of Covid-19 and that the benefits for children are nearly nonexistent. Furthermore, studies have shown that wearing masks can actually be harmful to children's development and ability to learn. Emerging data suggests that children are also suffering from depression, anxiety, stress, and other mental health related issues due to Covid-19 restrictions. 

Governor Newsom has continued to operate under "emergency orders" and implement policies that completely contradict scientific evidence. While the Governor implements and orders these restrictions, he has repeatedly ignored them with no consequence. Most recently, he was photographed multiple times at a football playoff game mask-less in a crowd of over 70,000 people, and in a crowded luxury box. Meanwhile, children K-12 are forced to wear masks hours on end during school with zero benefit. 

The State of California and County of Sonoma need to recognize that after two years in this pandemic, there is ample scientific evidence to prove that Covid-19 poses little to no risk to children and that continuing to force the masking of school age children is a blatant abuse of power. We are no longer in an emergency and therefore need to end the forcing of masks NOW.

Just as Newsom had a choice, masking should be a choice for ALL, especially innocent children. END THE MASK MANDATES AND UNMASK OUR KIDS!
