Petition update
Next meeting + more than 140 organization endorsements and 4,000 signatures
Feb 15, 2017 — We have just passed the 2,000 signature mark, but this is an ongoing effort, so please let your friends know about it. We have about the same number of signatures on hardcopy petitions. And 143 Sonoma County organizations, faith communities and businesses have also endorsed our efforts.
The Board of Supervisors, some city councils and some school boards have begun considering sanctuary-type resolutions. We must encourage them in their efforts and remind them that half-way measures won't do the job. They aren't comfortable going out on a limb, but they need to find themselves out there and we'll promise to be there holding it up.
Our next meeting to discuss progress and next steps will be Wednesday, February 22, 7:00 pm at the Peace & Justice Center of Sonoma County, 467 Sebastopol Ave. (not Sebastopol Rd.), Santa Rosa. Please feel free to join us.
Keep fighting for people power!
Politicians and rich CEOs shouldn't make all the decisions. Today we ask you to help keep Change.org free and independent. Our job as a public benefit company is to help petitions like this one fight back and get heard. If everyone who saw this chipped in monthly we'd secure Change.org's future today. Help us hold the powerful to account. Can you spare a minute to become a member today?
