All around the world, students and other kids face the tragic issue of bullying. According to many surveys, about 20%(1/5) of all students in the US face bullying each day. Statistics state that 42 out of the 50 states in the US both have laws and policies against bullying, but they are not strong enough to avoid the largest source of bullying in the modern world; cyber-bullying. With all the technology and wide-spread social media platforms we have today, it makes it easy to bully anyone with just the click of a button. Many students are terrified to go to school, or even in public because of this matter. Students and other bullies don't realize the impact words have on other people. Even if it's just a joke, it can turn into a fatal dilemma that might be the horrific end of an innocent being. Schools claim that they address the issue of bullying, however it is still present in school and social media. If bullies had harsher punishments, and victims were taken more seriously by adults, the issue of bullying would decrease by a rapid amount. Every year, about 4,400 deaths and 100 suicide attempts occur because of bullying and harassment. As many adults say, "Bullying is a part of life," although it can also be the end of one as well.
