New well built skatepark for Langport and huish episcopi
Langport and huish episcopi skate park was removed years ago with promise from the council of a replacement. Not only have we been left without a proper environment to safely practice a sport but also any thoughts of Getting any improvement to the recreational facilities. Skateboarding and bmx riding have both made their way into the Olympics so it's only right they're taken seriously by local communities. With the additional housing too both Huish Episcopi and Langport our communal facilities are not ready to house the extra use of new families and individuals. The benefits of building a new skatepark would consist of more customers to the sports club due to their supply of refreshments but also the local shops that would be visited by parents. The old grounds of the skatepark are located right next to Huish Episcopi primary school meaning if it was a well designed and built facility it would definitely get used. It would also act as a social beacon for the younger residents of Langport and Huish Episcopi as it would encourage them to be outside and pick up a new sport. The closest skate park to Langport and Huish Episcopi is Somerton but that requires a car or bus for younger people and people who have busy/disabled parents/carer's. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope it can make a change to our community
