It is believed that the sun provides enough energy in one hour to supply the energy needs for the whole earth for one year. Help us to use the energy of the sun for our benefit and the benefit of generations to come. We can 'solarize' America, save lives, clean up our planet and save money.
Tell the President and Congress to provide funding for solar energy research, development and deployment. Let's do this for our grandchildren, their grandchildren and their grandchildren. It is very possible that we are running out of time to get this done.
We insist that you provide a minimum of $800 billion of funding for solar energy research, development and deployment. Solar energy can provide energy for every American home, business and mode of transportation. Providing energy from fossil fuels should have gone out with the dinosaur. It is very possible that we are running out of time to get this done, so we all must appreciate the urgency of now. As Dr. King said on April 4, 1967: "...We are now faced with the fact, my friends, that tomorrow is today. We are faced with the fierce urgency of now."
Dr. King went on to say: "...Procrastination is still the thief of time... Over the bleached bones and jumbled residue of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: 'Too late.'"
This will benefit and influence every nation on earth, and every living creature and plant will grow in health, beauty and appreciation. Let's do this for our children, our grandchildren, their grandchildren and their grandchildren.
The money can come from the military and homeland security budgets. If we do not help to protect our planet, there is not much point in providing homeland security or defense, for there will be no homeland to secure or defend.
Again, quoting Dr. King: "...A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death." "...There is nothing except a tragic death wish to prevent us from reordering our priorities so that the pursuit of peace will take precedence over the pursuit of war."
Thank you for your time,
