Treat the mentally challenged members of society with respect
Too many lives are being written off and buried in low rental housing and bare subsistence financial support. Also with out sufficient support these members of our soiciety they have no hope.groups like SCOPE AND Clubhouse have to try to fill the gap by trying to offer some form of employment. This is to give the members a sence of self worth, unfortunately the government only allows 8 hours of work a week before they subtract it from their monthly stipend of $180 per month. Most of these souls end up on the street or in some rooming house where the owner gets a stipend to feed them. Not all but an uncomfortable amount feed them no name convieniance foods mac and cheese powdered milk and other unhealthy food choices .Many of the mentally challenged do not know how to stand up for them selves, their more concerned that they will have a place to stay. The mentally ill deserve the same treatment as any other illness unfortunately movies and TV show a very negative side and the paper is always ready to jump on the fact that the subject was mentally ill. Without proper jobs and subsistence living conditions this growing contingent of society will continue to detiriate and more potential citizens will be lost.KBT
