THE INTRODUCTION

Promoting and protecting human rights is at the core of our work. Human rights, the rule of law, and democracy are inextricably connected and our commitment to those fundamental principles is a foundation of our European development policy. Through al our actions, we defend and strive to achieve inclusive and just societies in partner countries where everyone is protected, respected, and free to speak their mind without having to fear for their safety.

The goal for this peace and justice is to reduce violence everywhere.

THE PROBLEM

Honour based violence (HBV) is classified as not only murder or violence, but rather a heroic attainment of religious beliefs, typically committed by a male family member. Around 5,000 women are killed annually in relation to HBV.

Moreover, more women and girls than men and boys were victimised, and yet the share of women and girls has slowly declined. In 2004 84% of victims were females and by 2014 that number had dropped to 71%. 
sexual exploitation numbers have declined, but forced labor has increased.

WE SHOULD REDUCE VIOLENT CRIME, SEX TRAFFICKING, FORCED LABOR AND CHILDE ABUSE AROUND OUR GLOBAL.
