In today’s society, social media and technology has impacted all our lives. 3.81 billion people actively use social media.We use it daily to entertain ourselves, for work, using online tools and communicating with people. Social media is not the only way to socialize, in fact it reduces it.
Some of the factors that we need to consider when downloading social media is that it can cause anxiety, loneliness, risk for depression and even suicidal thoughts. Many kids nowadays are on the screen for extensive amounts of time making them addicted from a very young age. You can fall behind tasks, forget the passing of time and causes many distractions.
According to the journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, limited social media engagement to 30 minutes per day leads to a better mental health and positively impacts your overall well-being.
