Hello I’m in 7th grade and in middle school and we had an assembly about school rules and one of the topics was school dress code. The only thing that was in the Google Presentation was “No shoulders or Stomach shown by girls”. I saw every girl roll their eyes as all of us disagreed. I feel as if this is unfair to us girls and even the boys at our school who don’t get “distracted” by our shoulders and stomachs.This is sexist and wrong, what if a boy takes his shirt off in the middle of class…huh I didn’t see that on the dress code slide what if that “distracts” me? This petition will be used for educational purposes only and is a peaceful protest for us woman about what we wear. We come to school to learn not to be judged. This isn’t Milan fashion week we are just kids. All we want is an education to get us through life and it’s sad how our school district thinks that our stomachs will affect boys and us girls from LEARNING. Some advice for the boys who think it is distracting keep it in your pants and keep ur eyes on your paper not on my body. Thank you to whoever signed the petition I very much appreciate it. Again this is not to hate on my middle school it is to show how us students have a voice in school rules like these thank you.
