There is a policy that requires students at Socastee High School to use clear bags in school. Other schools in the Horry County School District including St. James High, North Myrtle Beach High, Aynor High, Carolina Forest High, Conway High, Green Sea Floyd High, Loris High, AAST,  Scholars Academy, HCS Early College, and ATA do not. Socastee High School is one of the only schools in the district that enforces this policy, yet vaping materials still get into the school every day.. Bags are still searched even though they can be seen into. They are also not durable and cause an economical burden on parents because they do not last the entire school year.
