For years now, people have wanted to change their Snapchat usernames, but the need for the feature is growing as people grow more accepting of LGBTQ+ people- as acceptance grows, more people feel safe coming out. Trans and non-binary people often use a name they chose themselves to affirm their gender. Since users cannot change their usernames or show their pronouns, this can heighten feelings of dysphoria. It only makes sense to allow people to change their usernames, which may include a deadname. Additionally, adding an optional space for pronouns to be displayed will promote acceptance and inclusivity for people of all genders, as well as make it easier for people to keep up with pronoun changes in their social network. So, Snapchat should allow users to change their usernames and add their pronouns.
