Fair Nurse/CNA to patient ratios

Nursing to patient ratios in Long term care (Nursing Homes) are needed desperately. For example if a nurse has 20 patients, that means that each hour worked the nurse only has 3 minutes to care for each patient. 3 minutes! A nurse cant even get a complete set of vital signs in that time frame, much less do a good assessment or even talk to the patient. And 20 was a generous number. Often nurses are required to take care of a much higher number of patients then 20.
Now looking at the certified nursing aides or CNA. They do activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, dressing, transferring, assisting with eating, and many many other tasks. There is no way to adequately get these tasks complete in only 3 minutes.
This petition should not only be signed by just the healthcare workers but for anyone who has a loved one in long-term care, will need long-term care one day, or anyone that cares for the safety and quality of care for the elderly population.
I'm asking for the support so that I can advicate for the elderly population. I am currently asking for this support in Kentucky however the nurse to Patient ratio is needed throughout the United States of America and not only for long-term care but in hospitals as well. Please consider joining me in this desperate attempt to care for one of our most vulnerable population
