Dear Fellow Montecito Resident,

My name is Josh Diel and I live at 1332 Piedmont Circle. If you’re wondering why the parking spot markings are different in comparison to the very nice white markings that the middle spots received, you are not alone.

Please keep reading and sign this petition for the Smith Management Group to take action:

1. If your spot is on the curb and you would like to receive the same great white markings that the middle spots received
2. If you are a resident with one of the great-new parking spot markings and would like to assist our fellow curbside residents to receive the same markings so that our community has a uniform parking lot

To quote my realtor’s concerns:

1. The HOA/Smith Management Group’s non-uniformed markings could result in violation/failure of enforcing the By-Laws 4.4 section B (referenced on page 2)
2. Curb spots will taken by visitors and possibly fellow residents by mistake because they are not clearly marked for any period of time (hours or days)
3. Curb spot property values could be considered lower than middle parking spots for not having clearly marked spots and being uniform

Objective Differences:

1. Curb spots are BLACK and less visible at night than white
2. Curb spot dimensions: 14x4 inches (56 square inches)
3. Curb spots are only visible on the curb
4. Curb spots can only be seen while parking into the spot when parking next to a vehicle
5. Middle spots are WHITE and very visible during the day and night
6. Middle dimensions:  35x12 inches  (420 sq inches - 7.5 times bigger)
7. Middle spots are visible outside of the spot
8. Middle spots markings can be seen while driving and even when a car is parked
