Force Smith and Wesson to Take Action Against Gun Violence

Gun violence is a horrifying epidemic in the United States today--too many people can access killing machines too easily, and that needs to be addressed at its root cause. Holding gun manufacturers accountable plays a vital role in effecting change to finally keep America safe.
Smith and Wesson, who have their corporate headquarters in Springfield Massachusetts, manufactured the weapon used in the Parkland shooting. Their gun, an AR-15 style rifle called a Smith and Wesson M&P15, was the gun that killed 17 students at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school. Their CEO James Debney donates huge sums of money to the NRA.
But we believe that they need to stand with us. Smith and Wesson, as an employer of a significant number of people in Springfield and the surrounding area, is a part of the community and must take responsibility for keeping it safe. We ask them to cease these harmful actions: to stop selling assault weapons to the public, and to stop donating money to the NRA.
