To everyone who is asking when the popular Coach House Bar at Hales Hall is re-opening, we are sorry to say that we are prevented from opening because we have been stopped by SMDC while they consider whether to give us permission to replace the 300 year old hand made Staffordshire Blue tiles with new factory made Staffordshire Blue tiles ! 

The old tiles that we wish to replace are not fit for purpose having cracks and retaining nibs missing they are a danger to anyone beneath them because they cannot be secured safely.

We have been ordered to stop work on the roof since June while we appeal their decision and in the meantime the roof remains partly unprotected from the weather.

If SMDC and other conservationists really do care about protecting and saving this building as I do, they should use a little common sense and allow the work already started to continue.

We want to continue attracting people to the area and provide further employment opportunities and attractions for local people.
