As a group of parents of children with autism living in Sligo, we started this petition to urge the minister for education to provide July provision to students.
This provision has never been more necessary for children many of which are struggling greatly with lack of routine and structure and have regressed in their skills under the pressure of these unchartered times.
Having an option of having a familiar person working with children and helping to prepare them for their return to school would be invaluable.
We again urge the minister,all TDs in our local area and public representatives to allow teachers and SNAS to deliver July provision and ensure children can access the July provision programme and have the necessary supports to prepare for the transition back to school.
