ELFARA ERIANA SUF’IIN started this petition to Unirazak and

Sleep deprivation is common to high school and college students. It has been proven that sleep deprivation can give inimical effects to a person and affect his/her physical and cognitive abilities.

Studies show that a normal human being requires at least 8 hours of sleep for them to have a healthy brain and function properly. A lack of sleep from insomnia is not only harmful to one’s own body but can also be dangerous to surrounding citizens.

It is a serious issue in college students, and is only getting worse. Universities and colleges should recognize the poor sleep habits and their effect on students’ academic and athletic performances. If some kind of educational workshop or session helps one person, then it can still be considered successful.

Teenagers like me have so much potential. We are capable of so much more. But because schools (the places that are trying to HELP US LEARN) are preventing our growth and learning by starting far too early. It's time for them to face it: teens need to sleep, too.

This isn't only a problem with teens, it also affects adults. It's a nationwide epidemic that needs to be stopped. There is no substitute for restorative sleep. A certain amount of care should be taken to prevent ongoing sleep deprivation in individuals of all ages.

Sign this petition to bring this underestimated problem to attention and stop this cycle once and for all.
