Skyridge students get an “AW” on Skyward when they are late to class, which means they don’t get to see what grade they have in that subject. The AW stands for “Attendance Warning”. If students are late to their period 4 times they will get this AW replacing their letter grade. This can discourage students from doing work or submitting papers if they don’t know what grade they have.
Changing the passing period from 5 to 7 minutes would give students time to get to their periods in a timely manor. They would be able to get a drink or use the restroom before going to class instead of when the class is active. Making learning easier.
