Christy Cottier started this petition to Sky

On the 30th of October 2021, beloved journalist and presenter Jeff Stelling announced his intention to leave Sky Sports Soccer Saturday from the end of the 2020/21 Barclays Premier League Season. Leaving hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of viewers, co-presenters and ex-pros alike upset, heartbroken and with an overbearing fear of what may come in the future.

Since 1994, Jeff has been watched for what seems like an eternity by football fans all over the UK and even further afield as his own presence, alongside other hosts such as Chris Kamara, Phil Thompson and Charlie Nicholas as well as the late George Best, have attracted people to Sky Sports News to watch the greatest multi-game live commentary that television has ever had the pleasure of viewing.

I join all of you in saying, Jeff, thank you and goodbye.

Yet the question remains - who comes next?

Will Sky play it safe and use a ready made presenter already on the Soccer Saturday books? They would be just a pale imitation.

Will they look for another promising television host with somewhat of a less known name? Perhaps that was a one off with Stelling.

Or will they do the unthinkable and take the "attract the young ones" approach and add Jimmy Bullard or 'Fenners' to the team? The thought alone sends shivers down my spine.

But alas, just when we thought it was out of our hands, up steps Alisson Becker in the 95th minute, Joachim Löw throws on young Mario Götze, relatively unknown french midfielder, N'golo Kante, joins Leicester City in a £5 million deal.

Which brings us to the present day, twitter user/niche internet micro-celebrity, Gubby Bongo, saddened by the news of his favourite presenter leaving his screen wants to take positive action and prevent the footballing world from a future of an Aaron Cresswell assist being described as a "mad tekker", takes it on himself to take over the role and see it done how the fans want it.

The user, who from his profile picture appears to be a Nintendo Mii will strive to deliver the best at-home experience any fan could ask for.

He is willing to do whatever it takes to get this chance because he knows he won't disappoint. So as the 18 year old randomer who still doesn't know what to do with himself after leaving sixth form in June sits up in bed on halloween, forgetting that he has an English GCSE resit tomorrow he plans to march to Matalan in the morning for a fresh suit in order to get himself to Isleworth sharp at some point this week to speak to the people he needs to speak to for the job, but not Tuesday or Wednesday because the Champions League is on.

Please sign so I don't have to go back to education, regards,

Gubs x
