We would like to change the SKPS curriculum to further our learning. The current system, i-Ready, puts students in boring lessons that are not up to their level. Most 7th grade students are currently in lessons on how to add fractions, while well into the algebraic curriculum on platforms that aren't i-Ready. Instead of i-Ready we would like to introduce a more hands on curriculum such as CPM Educational Program books that the teacher can help with and you can choose your own level. While the SKPS school district continues to back up i-Ready, the students are suffering with boring lessons that don't teach anything. With the money that the school district is spending on the i-Ready curriculum, (which is around 1 million dollars a year) the school could buy a more modern teaching system, and pay for the school staff that is needed.
