Siskiyou county Public Health has mandated the flu vaccine for all healthcare workers with no option to wear a mask in lieu of the vaccination. In past years the flu vaccine has approximately 30% efficacy per the CDC the past two years. Healthcare workers should have the RIGHT to choose to receive the vaccine. If a mask was good enough before, the option should be there for an employee to wear a mask during flu season.
