Force the University Of Leeds to sever ties with Royal Brunei Airlines
The University Of Leeds travel supplier KeyTravel is working in partnership with Royal Brunei Airways. We strongly urge the University Of Leeds to Lobby KeyTravel and any other supplier that is working with the Sultanate of Brunei to sever ties with the Sultanate following this week’s announcement that homosexuality will now be punishable by death in the Nation of Brunei. This is a brazen and deplorable violation of human rights and the University should not be furnishing the coffers of this murderous regime by booking flights through the government owned airline.
In the University’s own Equality and Inclusion objectives it states that they aim to incorporate “equality into day-today business activity” – we struggle to see how this is being achieved when their day to day job involves working with a company that is complicit in financially supporting a regime that is happy to murder its citizens on the basis of sexuality.
