Middle to low income families  in Singapore are suffering from the loss of jobs and income from COVID-19. Daily survival is the priority now over savings for a rainy day. The rainy day is here now!

Many Singaporeans have lost their jobs or suffer huge reductions in their income as a result of COVID-19 and Circuit Breaker initiative.

The help rendered by the Singapore government in the additional budgets is appreciated but simply not sufficient and not fast enough for many. There simply can't be a one size fit all solution in such economic times. 

Allow those who need financial help to withdraw from their CPF account. Whatever the prudent amount should be, it is a self-help approach that is the savings of the individual without him or her losing further dignity. 

To the Singapore government - please spare a thought about the daily stress and mental anguish of Singaporeans who worry about their bills and debts daily, and the irreparable damage to family relationships and social structure and the shadow that will be left behind in years to come when we look back at this pandemic and ponder how the government could have done more...
