To the Prime Minister of Singapore:

Dear Sir,

I write this petition on behalf of seniors between 55 and 65 years old in Singapore who are reeling financially under the current Covid19 pandemic 

Singapore has been badly hit economically by the Covid19 pandemic, among other issues and the most vulnerable group is the between 55 years old and 65 years old seniors. There is a large number  in this group who are jobless, financially squeezed and worst, moneyless  who are struggling to make ends meet. Many, however, have some funds in their Retirement account which they cannot utilise until they reach the age of 65 years old. This group is squeezed in between - having money in Retirement Account but cannot access it while currently , have no means to any source of income. These group is being entrapped financially.

I wish to request the Government of Singapore to compassionately consider the following  options for this group of seniors :

Option 1

To release a meaningful percentage from their own Retirement Account savings to help tide over this period as soon as possible.

Option 2

To allow temporary monthly withdrawal of the Retirement Account in the interim period  until the crisis is over.

We sincerely appeal to your compassion and wisdom to overcome the suffering of this group of seniors.
