Help This Village Secure Their Water Resource
Help This Village Secure Their Water Resource
For the next six months, this village in Sindh is unsure about whether they will secure a water resource for their whole village. The government built water reserve is covered in soil due to the heavy monsoons witnessed this year. The other alternative is a hand pump located two kilometers away from the village. This means that women and young girls have to walk a long way to fill up water. This is also a barrier for many girls who want to go to school. Furthermore, the hand pump find itself located near another village whose residents claim ownership over the pump. They allow for limited access to this pump. This is detrimental for the people in Sindh that rely on agriculture as their main source of income.
