The Sinclair Broadcast Group owns 193 television stations across the US, most of them in the South and the Midwest. Trailing only Fox News and Facebook in its reach, this network has been instrumental in spreading The Big Lie. The Capitol insurrection of 1/6/2021 was fueled by the spread of the Big Lie. Sinclair also owns the TennisChannel. This means that advertising revenues from tennis are being used to perpetrate The Big Lie. This is unacceptable to me as a lifelong tennis player and fan.

Tennis fans, according to recent data, skew further to the left than any other fan group in professional sports with the exception of the NBA. Many of them do not know of the relationship between Sinclair and the TennisChannel. 

The Big Lie corrodes the effective functioning of democracy. A connected effect of The Big Lie is its collateral effect on effective efforts to address climate change. Tennis fans are strong supporters of both true democracy and combating climate change.

What can we do about it? We, the signatories to this petition, vow to boycott all products and services advertised on the TennisChannel. If we are successful, we will force a divestiture of the TennisChannel from Sinclair.
