I've had enormous troubles with their DRM system. I frequently swap in and out a USB ethernet interface and this may trigger the DRM lockout. I also sometimes need to forcibly restart my linux window manager and this can also cause this to happen. And at other times it happens just for no apparent reason. In the past I was able to "reset licenses" but this is now no longer the case. Now, I have to e-mail S3D support and wait DAYS, sometimes more than a WEEK before I get a response that my license has been reset. Totally ridiculous and they have disregarded all my suggestions (I am a computer scientist) for fixing their broken DRM system. I feel forced to stop using their software or find a circumvention method. I PAID for this stuff and I NEED it to work at ALL times, day or night, without having to apply for approval from them whenever I do. Ridiculously bad customer service. Totally unrecommend this software until they fix their DRM.

I can't use Simplify3D on Fedora Linux because DRM key changes every time I reboot my PC.

DRM on Simplify3d is killing me. Just plugging in my USB ethernet adapter (required at work) counts as a separate "licence" when I start it up. That means I can't run it on my desktop if I ever want to use it on my laptop without it freaking out. I also occasionally host a VM on my laptop for other dev work. As soon as networking settings change, that's another license. I can't deactivate one of the "installs" without returning to exactly the networks settings I had whenever S3d decided to call home or require me to log in again. This has resulted in not being able to use this rather expensive software for days while waiting on support to clear those previous installs.

For a little while the fix seemed to be leaving S3d always running in the background, but this simply resulting in that one installation taking up two "licenses" and not being able to deactivate the right one ever. Then I started deactivating every time I closed S3d.... That didn't work either as I was almost immediately unable to use it again. Real pain. Buy another license? Why? So one guy can use the software he already paid for with fewer interruptions? No, I bought this software before this new DRM model started. If I could instead get a refund, I would just never use it again.

because I had the worst experience with these people who din't want to refund (as they advertise they will) after I found out the software was not giving satisfying results with my 3D printer.

Yeah just got hit with this DRM thing after rolling back to Windows7, on top of that I use Linux back and forth so I no doubt will face the issue there as well!
