The problem is that in Ireland this drug is given to children under 18 without having a diagnosis for depression, this drug is a powerful, dangerous anti-depressant. It comes with warnings about suicide ideation & side effects that would blow your mind. In America this drug comes with a black box warning, in Ireland our HSE can prescribe off label, which means they can give it to children for school anxiety & other not so severe conditions which do not meet the criteria for its use. The HSE seem to bypass the guidlines for its use, hence the fact my son Jake Mcgill Lynch (14yrs old) shot himself dead after 46 days on this drug, he had no diagnosis of depression or suicide ideation. Aspergers (mild) is not a condition that can be treated with an anti-depressant, nor should it be. Lets stop medicating our children & funding big pharma...
