Tauranga Recycling should be free kerbside bins and include glass.

Tauranga City Council’s Long Term Plan consultation starts on 16 March; we are petitioning for recycling to be included with our rates; we shouldn't have to pay a third party like Waste Management for recycling as most cities in New Zealand provide this as a standard however Tauranga don't.
What makes things worse, as of 1st March 2018, you can no longer recycle glass in your wheely bin, we have been told it needs to be taken to a recycling station and or be disposed of. This petition is to include glass (50+% of my recycle bin) should be included in collection of our wheely bins.
Kiwi kids (and most adults) have been brought up to recycle as second nature, something they do every day; this took years to ingrain into people, however this backwards step will remove all that hard work if we don't tend to it immediately.
