The mission of Wildlife Care of Ventura County is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured and orphaned wild animals. We have been doing that for 20 years in Simi Valley, in a backyard that backs up to the hills, in an area zoned for horses but not wildlife. We hold State, Federal, and USDA permits for the temporary care of injured and orphaned wild animals, however new state regulations require us to obtain city permits in addition to our current permits. In order to get this we need your help. We must provide a petition demonstrating community support from the Simi Valley residents for the continued rehabilitation of wildlife.
There are no city or state agencies that are permitted to rehabilitate wildlife. Animal shelters and veterinarians must transfer the injured or orphaned wildlife to a permitted wildlife rehabilitator for care and release. If they do not have places like Wildlife Care of Ventura County to send them to for rehabilitation, they will euthanize all wild animals...even healthy babies.
With Simi Valley and other areas growing at the rate they are into the hills, wild animals and humans are having more and more contact. This is making the need for Wildlife Care of Ventura County more dire than ever. Please voice your support for Wildlife Care of Ventura County to continue to offer this service to the community that is not offered at the city or state level.
If we donʼt get the support of the community the animals will suffer and there will be no where for them to go other than Animal Control to be euthanized. PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION, ALL WE NEED IS YOUR SUPPORT!
