A lot of companies are hiring temporary employees to a short term in different countries especially in the Philippines and then terminating their employment just short of being regularize in order to skirt on the fees which come with regularization. Our petition will help people especially the Filipino workers to have a regular job.
Filipinos are know for being committed individuals, especially in the workforce. Tourist admire Filipino valets and bellboys who always extend a helping hand to them, despite calling on their service in the wee hours. There is no snobbish attitude among the Filipinos. For Filipinos bravery is marked with courage, specially in times of distress and other problems. Philippines is the 69th of the ranking in the poorest countries. A lot of Filipinos struggle in life and some Filipinos don't have the chance to go to school, which leads to the increase of unemployment in the country. Unemployment is one of the unsolve problem in the Philippines. Filipino workers taught of instead of removing them from the position, why won't let them stay to reduce the unemployment rate in the country . Being regularized is like an award that should be given to them, for staying and devoting their life in working for the company but it seems like a lot of companies don't acknowledge and appreciate it.
Endo Contractualization is one of the biggest problem being faced by Filipino workers. It involves companies giving workers temporary employment that last them less than 6 months and then terminating their employment just short of being regularized. According to SunStar Philippines, on August 16,2017, Silvestre Bello III contractualization still persist. Silvestre Bello III said that the department was dismayed that companies still continue to implement contractualization despite the issuance, DOLE's department order 174 released on March.
In order to bring our country to a success, companies should help workers, specially Flipino workers, earn a lot from their hardwork, appreciate their loyalty, and allow them to be regularized in their work. As a student who care about Filipino workers who works hard for their families, we want to fight for their rights to have a permanent occupation. We want to be the voice of the people and hoping to be heard.
